As Americans we take pride in knowing that we are free and every man is created equal. But there are some situations in which we are not equal; instead we are unjust. A perfect example of this situation where we are not created equal is double standards. According to dictionary. com it says that double standards are any code or set of principles containing different provisions for one group of people than for another. One prime example is the fact that English speaking students cannot take English as a Second Language (ESL) while Spanish speaking students can take Spanish, and have it count as a credit. Not only is this a double standard, it is unfair and reverse discrimination. We say that we are created equal, but are we really? Can we be considered created equal if some rank, race, sex, social class, or other distinction gets a privilege that all of us do not? I will not tolerate double standards. I will not tolerate reverse discrimination and I will not tolerate the fact that because you are different you get special privileges. As a country we are supposed to be created equal and have the same exact chances as everyone else, but it seems that we don’t. How can we be a country that is based on freedom and equal chances when double standards exist. Everyone should get a fair chance, everyone should be able to have the same rights as everyone else. It is unfair that English speaking students cannot take ESL, just because it is their first language. But what about the Spanish speaking students that have Spanish as their first language? Why are they allowed to take Spanish? Why do they as students get different rules? It is unfair that Spanish speaking students can take Spanish as a class and get an easy A. Why should English speaking students not have the same chances. If everyone is created equal, then we should be treated as equal. No one should get special privileges. By not being able to have the freedom and the right to take English as a Second Language (ESL), us as English speakers have many complaints. First of all, by not allowing English speakers to take ESL, that is double standards. Even though there are many Spanish speaking students that are in a Spanish class. Secondly, when the Spanish speaking students take Spanish they get credits for it, even though they already know how to speak Spanish. Thirdly, since these Spanish speaking student already know how to speak Spanish they are passing the class with flying colors. Basically it is an easy A. While on the other hand, English speaking student have to work very hard, and try to get a passing grade. The fourth reason as to why it is unfair and injustice is that English speaking students cannot take ESL. Why can Spanish speaking students take Spanish for a credit and English speaking students cannot take ESL for a credit. By being based on freedom and equal chances the idea of double standards doesn’t sit well with me. Just the idea that someone else gets a choice that you don’t is absolutely unfair. It is unfair that some people get to do something easier just because they are different, and it is unfair that we do not all get this privilege. We should all get the same chance, we should all be created equal, and we go by the same rules; whether or not you are different.
This is a place where I want to talk about all of the changes going on in the world. There are so many new things happening and not everyone knows about them. More teens need to be involved with their country and politics. We are the future and we need to start learning. I dont know that much, but I would like to learn, and I want to know what is happening and I think there are other people like me that want to voice their opinion too.

Abortion
Should it be Legal? Should it be Illegal?
If I were put into a situation there is no way that I could abort my baby. But If there was a young woman that wanted to abort her baby, do I have the right to stop her?
I think if a woman wants to make that decision then she can, but I never would.
I wonder what other people think

cloning
Cloning has been going on for some time now, AND I think that it is absoulty ridicoulous. There is no reason for cloning. When we start to do more clonging there is going to be legal problems.
Is that clone a real person, animal etc.? does it have the same rights as the clone before itself.
There is no reason for cloning. It is just a waste of time, money and space. We do not need a cloned dog or sheep. what we need is cures for cancers and diseases. We should start focusing on things that really matter. we should be spending our money on things that really matter.
what is going on in our world?

President
I have nothing against President Obama, but I do have some questions and concerns about him and his policies.
First of all, did he only win becuase he is black, and people didnt want to feel rasicst? Did he win because people wanted to have a black president for the first time? Did he win because people wanted to see him assinated? (which would be horrible)
I dont think it is right to vote for someone just because of their race. You need to look at the persons policies and their beliefs.
Second of all, how much taxes is he going to raise. Will people loose jobs? What is going to happen to our economy?
Third of all, why is he so popular. People faint when they see him. Its like hes more of a superstar than a presdiesnt! and why is his wife a covergirl? This puzzles me!
